Implant restoration has become an everyday part of a restorative dental practice. With that, complications tend to follow, whether they be restorative or biologic in nature. This presentation will review restorative complications in implant dentistry with a focus on the head-scratchers that can throw your day for a loop. Restorative complications typically impact the crown/restoration, abutment, abutment/prosthetic screw or the implant itself. Material selection, biologic design and occlusion can have an impact on expected outcomes. Participants will get an overview of types of complications, risk factors, how to monitor patients to limit complications and a sampling of managing these complications.
Learning Objectives:
Understand types of restorative complications in implant dentistry.
Design restorations in a manner to limit or be able to anticipate future complications.
Be able to monitor patients in an attempt to limit restorative complications.
