A journey through the stages of childhood will review the most common oral-facial injuries, how they best can be prevented, and how to manage them. The lecture will address alveolar fractures, intrusions, complicated crown and crown-root fractures, avulsions, and more. Participants will also learn how to master Cvek pulpotomies and precision tooth fragment rebonding with guaranteed esthetics and zero fragment debonds.
Learning Objectives:
Manage most alveolar fractures from age six months and beyond.
Warn parents of the common culprits of most traumatic oral injuries with each stage of childhood.
Understand necessary radiographic analysis with different types of traumas.
Begin implementation of a Triage Dental Assistant to be the first line of contact for after hour emergencies.
Reconstruct permanent incisors utilizing composite and/or tooth fragments for esthetic and predictable outcomes.
Understand keys to a Cvek pulpotomy.
Know when a direct pulp cap is a good option for a traumatic exposure.
Institute utilization of a trauma sheet and protocol for trauma follow up.
