Research still indicates that the key to periodontal maintenance and treatment is the mechanical removal of biofilm and calculus. To remove these irritants, the practitioner needs to be aware of instrument options and apply critical decision-making skills while being as efficient as possible. This course will review techniques related to power and hand instrumentation. We will assess videos for common instrumentation pitfalls for probing, exploring, hand and power scaling.
