Obtaining quality dental radiographs wouldn't be very difficult if all our patients had large mouths, wide arches, high vaulted palates, straight teeth, and moderate pain tolerance. However, in the real world, patients present with shallow palates, sensitive gag reflexes, tender tori, narrow arches, missing teeth, fat cheeks, pushy tongues, and malocclusion. This lecture will discuss and demonstrate techniques to overcome challenges like these and more.
Learning Objectives:
Develop techniques for obtaining quality radiographs on children, persons with sensitive gag reflexes and other challenges.
Comprehend the bisecting technique and practice visualizing the angles.
Compare various sensor holding devices and determine which to employ for each task.
