Dr. Rubens is from Spokane Washington. He graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Psychology in 1976, his DDS in 1980, and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) in 1988. Dr. Rubens did a General Practice Residency in the United States Air Force in 1980-1981 and spent 10 years on active duty as a general dentist and OMFS. Dr. Rubens has been in private practice in Bothell, Washington since 1990. Dr. Rubens was an attending Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at Harborview Medical Center for 10 years and has been an active faculty member of the department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Rubens is board certified in both Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental Anesthesiology. Dr. Rubens has lectured internationally to a number of groups on various topics in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Rubens has a special interest in dealing with complications and the challenges of avoiding them. Dr. Rubens has substantial experience as a medico-legal consultant. In his free time, Dr. Rubens and his wife, Stephanie, are boaters, avid photographers, and enjoy their children, four grandchildren, and their Havanese dogs, Cookie and Rascal. Dr. Rubens was a cowboy for over 30 years, but has since hung up his saddle.
