E. LaRee Johnson, DDS, MS, FAAPD practices in Raleigh, NC, speaks nationally and internationally and holds adjunct faculty positions at the University of North Carolina and East Carolina University. After completing her DDS with honors at the University of Tennessee and her residency program and post-doctoral master's at the University of North Carolina, Dr. Johnson has been in full-time private practice for nearly 24 years. She is the founder of Carolina Pediatric Dentistry, a multi-doctor, multi-location practice, and past president of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and the North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Professionally, Dr. Johnson enjoys caring for children through quality, evidence-based clinical pediatric dentistry. She is a North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners Sedation Site and Provider evaluator and serves as the Dental Director of the Surgery Center for Dental Professionals. Her practical practice management skills are simply a byproduct of continued efficient clinical excellence while ensuring a patient-centered practice model. Dr. Johnson is a graduate of Northwestern Kellogg Leadership Institute and the Academy of Academic Leadership Master Clinician program sponsored through the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Being a wife, mother of two college-aged children, and a spoiled Labrador retriever brings Dr. Johnson her greatest joy. Her family's hobbies include anything outside, travel, and sports. Dr. Johnson and her husband have completed multiple Ironman triathlons and the Umstead 100 Mile Endurance Run. They will have completed a marathon in 50 states by the end of 2023 (currently at 45/50). Dr. Johnson enjoys sharing clinical and practice management lessons learned and developed to assist all professionally and provide tips for finding the elusive balance in life's personal and professional journeys.
